About

Compendium.education is a repository of open educational resources administered by the University College Freiburg. Its goal is to offer access to high quality university-level materials for educators and learners alike, such as syllabi, lecture slides and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) exercise sheets. The educational resources on this website are primarily focused on the areas of life sciences, neuroscience, public health and philosophy. We welcome new contributions from educators around the world, either directly through the submission form or by contacting us!

The Compendium.education project promotes Problem-Based Learning, which is a teaching practice involving students working together to research novel topics and find solutions together. The approach emphasizes critical thinking, active learning, teamwork and independent research skills.

Many of the educational resources presented on this website are generously hosted by ZOERR – The Central Open Educational Resources Repository of universities in Baden-Württemberg. ZOERR is not directly affiliated with Compendium.education.
